Langue : adangbe (adq) Enquête : Da: <1854 ; “From Tẹ́te, or Frederick Gibbon, of Freetown, born in the town Gbótūe, where he also married, and had a child five years of age, when he was seized by the Gádṣa people because another Gbótūẹ man, with whom he was in nowise connected, owed them a debt. After five months imprisonment, he was carried to Gírefē, the slave port of Dahṓme. Immediately after his arrival in Sierra Leone he enlisted as a soldier; and after having served under the English banner in Sierra Leone and the Gambia for twenty-one years, he received his discharge five years ago. In his regiment he had four countrymen, but in Sierra Leone he is now the only Adámpẹan.”.
